Another week of war in Ukraine is passing. Scholarship recipients of the John Paul II Foundation are constantly involved in various help for refugees. This time I would like to present the commitment to children who, together with their mothers, were forced to leave their homes and stay in Lublin. The initiator of this project is Mrs. Zofia Zaorska, the founder of the Polish Association of Educators and Animators KLANZA and the Lublin School of SuperBabci (super grandmother) and SuperDziadka (super grandfather).
At the end of February, Mrs. Zofia offered our scholarship recipients workshops which prepare participants to help children from Ukraine who suddenly had to flee the war. She invited them to various workshops, for example related to pedagogy of play or devoted to integration methods in working with groups of children. On March 4th practical workshops were held, in which 11 people participated. Later, participants of the workshops were able to test the learned skills during 3 meetings in which about 90 children participated, along with their mothers.
On Divine Mercy Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the meeting after the Holy Mass, all volunteers received special thanks. In the future, further workshops and meetings with children from Ukraine are planned.
