A Spiritual Oasis in Rome: The John Paul II Pilgrim House in the Jubilee Year

As the Jubilee Year draws countless pilgrims to Rome, one place stands out as a warm and welcoming spiritual haven: the Polish House of John Paul II, located at Via Cassia 1200. This special center continues to be a vital point of contact for pilgrims seeking not just accommodation, but a meaningful encounter with the legacy of Saint John Paul II in the Eternal City.

Between March and May 2025 alone, the Pilgrim House welcomed a wide array of guests—both organized groups and individual travelers. Among them were the Christ the King priests during their priestly retreat, primary school groups from Mieścisko and Popowo Kościelne, high school students from Elbląg, and pilgrims from Gniezno, Swarzewo, Puck, Wolsztyn, Stare Miasto, Knurów, and Słupca.

Also hosted were healthcare professionals from Poland, youth ministry leaders from Kraków, the “120” community led by Fr. Wojciech Węgrzyniak, as well as the Major Seminary of Przemyśl accompanied by Bishop Krzysztof Chudzio. The Light-Life Movement from Choroszcz also visited, as did members of the Polish diaspora from Zgorzelec. Pilgrims from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, and Italy also passed through its doors.

At the heart of this thriving ministry is Fr. Mateusz Wójcik, the director, supported by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart and a dedicated team of lay staff. Together, they create an atmosphere of hospitality, prayer, and community that reflects the very spirit of its patron saint.

More than just a guesthouse, the John Paul II Pilgrim House is a living space of faith and encounter. It serves as a spiritual bridge between Poland and Rome, and a place where the legacy of one of the Church’s greatest modern saints continues to inspire and guide.

For those making their pilgrimage to Rome in this Jubilee Year, the House offers more than just a place to stay—it offers a home of faith, warmth, and tradition. Visit the website, learn more, and book your stay to experience this unique spiritual haven for yourself.
