On this occasion, I express my prayerful wish that the Holy Spirit may enlighten and strengthen you in your task of safeguarding, promoting, and transmitting the teachings and legacy of this distinguished man, eminent theologian, and Successor of Peter.I had the grace of collaborating with Card. Joseph Ratzinger during the pontificate of St. John Paul II, and I witnessed how deeply the Holy Pope valued his balanced discernment, wise counsel, and precious service. I thank God that I was also granted the opportunity to collaborate with the Holy Father Benedict XVI during his pontificate.
