February 4, 2026

On 27 January, the Vatican confirmed the appointment of Rev. Prof. Roberto Regoli as the new Chairman of the Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation. On this occasion, the President of the John Paul II Vatican Foundation addressed a congratulatory letter to him. Congratulatory Letter for Rev. Prof. Roberto Regoli Vatican City, 3 February 2026 Reverend Professor, As President of the John Paul II Vatican Foundation, I wish, in my own name and on behalf of the entire Administrative Council, to extend my heartfelt and profound congratulations on your appointment as President of the Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation. On this occasion, I express my prayerful wish that the Holy Spirit may enlighten and strengthen you in your task of safeguarding, promoting, and transmitting the teachings and legacy of this distinguished man, eminent theologian, and Successor of Peter. I had the grace of collaborating with Card. Joseph Ratzinger during the pontificate of St. John Paul II, and I witnessed how deeply the Holy Pope valued his balanced discernment, wise counsel, and precious service. I thank God that I was also granted the opportunity to collaborate with the Holy Father Benedict XVI during his pontificate. In light of these vivid and profound memories, I hold a firm conviction that he will accompany and support you as you undertake this new and delicate responsibility for the good of the Church in our time. In the hope of a personal meeting and of exchanging perspectives regarding the collaboration between our Foundations, I extend to you the expression of my deepest respect and devoted esteem. Msgr. Paweł A. Ptasznik President of the John Paul II Vatican Foundation
