1. General Provisions
1.1. For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below:
Foundation – the John Paul II Vatican Foundation, with its registered seat in the Vatican City State at the address: Via del Pellegrino s.n.c., 00120 Città del Vaticano;
Personal Data – any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person;
Website – the website operated by the Foundation and available at https://vaticanjp2.va/ or any of its subdomains;
User – a person using the Website who has full legal capacity, or a person who has reached the age of 13 and uses the Website with the consent of their legal guardian.
1.2. These Terms and Conditions govern the rules for making online payments to the Foundation via the Website (hereinafter referred to as "Online Payments").
1.3. The current list of available methods for making Online Payments to the Foundation is published on the Website.
1.4. Making an Online Payment via the Website constitutes acceptance by the User of these Terms and Conditions.
2. Nature Of Payments
2.1. By using Online Payments made available via the Website, the User may make a donation for the purpose of supporting the Foundation.
2.2. Online Payments made via the Website are available as one-time payments.
3. Payment Methods
3.1. Online Payments may be made using payment cards, including both credit cards and debit cards, in particular: Visa, Mastercard, V Pay, JCB.
3.2. The list of available payment methods may be subject to change in accordance with the policies and technical availability of the Payment Operator.
4. Payment Process
4.1. In order to make an Online Payment via the Website, the User selects the amount and the currency of the donation.
4.2. The E-Commerce payment module is then launched.
4.3. The transaction requires 3-D Secure authentication (Visa Secure / Mastercard Identity Check).
4.4. Upon successful authorization, the payment is credited to the Foundation's account.
4.5. The User receives a transaction confirmation from the Payment Operator by e-mail.
4.6. The Foundation does not have access to any payment card data.
4.7. When redirected to the Payment Operator's website for the purpose of completing the Online Payment, the User is required to accept the Payment Operator's terms and conditions.
5. Transaction Security
5.1. Online Payments are secured through the following measures:
- encrypted SSL/TLS connections,
- compliance with the PCI DSS security standard,
- the 3-D Secure 2.0 verification system,
- any other security measures specified by the Payment Operator in its applicable terms and conditions.
5.2. The Foundation is responsible solely for the integration of the payment module within the Website, whereas the security of payment card data is ensured exclusively by the Payment Operator.
6. Refunds
6.1. As Online Payments made via the Website constitute donations, they are, as a rule, non-refundable, except in cases of User error (e.g. duplicate payment).
6.2. Any refunds, where applicable, shall be processed to the same payment card used for the original transaction, and shall be executed by the Payment Operator within up to fourteen (14) business days.
7. Payment Complaints
7.1. Complaints regarding Online Payments may be submitted by the User to the Foundation from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (CET) by telephone at +39 334 923 2105 or by e-mail at media@vaticanjp2.va.
7.2. The complaint should specify its subject matter, in particular include a description of the issue and the circumstances justifying the complaint, as well as provide contact details enabling communication with the User (e.g. telephone number, e-mail address).
7.3. Complaints may concern, in particular: technical errors, authorization issues, duplicate transactions.
8. Personal Data
8.1. The Foundation processes Users' personal data solely to the extent necessary to handle complaints relating to Online Payments. Detailed information on the processing of personal data is available in the Privacy Policy, published on https://vaticanjp2.va/.
8.2. In connection with Online Payments, and in all other respects than those referred to in clause 8.1, Users' personal data are processed by the Payment Operator.
9. Governing Law And Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Vatican City State. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent judicial authority of the Vatican City State.
10. Amendments To The Terms And Conditions
10.1. These Terms and Conditions shall enter into force upon their publication on the Foundation's website.
10.2. The Foundation reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any amendments, together with the date of their entry into force, shall be made available to Users in the same manner as these Terms and Conditions. In the event of amendments, Users making use of recurring Online Payments shall be entitled to terminate such payments.
