October 17, 2025

On Thursday, 16 October, a prayer vigil of the Polish diaspora was held in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican to commemorate the 47th anniversary of the election of St. John Paul II to the See of Peter. The theme of the evening was: “Overcome Evil with Good!” In seeking the intercession of St. John Paul II, we prayed for peace in the world.

The vigil was organized by the Polish Pastoral Ministry at the Church of St. Stanislaus B.M. in Rome, with the participation of the Polish pastoral ministries at the Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rome and the Church of St. Nicholas in Ostia, as well as the John Paul II Vatican Foundation.
