John Paul II Youth Indonesia Visits Elderly Care Home

July 12, 2026

On Saturday, 20 June 2026, the “John Paul II Youth Indonesia” community, affiliated with the Friends of the Vatican John Paul II Foundation in Indonesia, carried out its regular charity visit to the Taman Gracelil Nursing Home in the Diocese of Bogor, Indonesia. Around 30 young members took part in the outreach.

The elderly are among the most vulnerable members of society, to whom Saint John Paul II devoted particular pastoral attention. Inspired by his example, this initiative encourages young people to live the Christian virtues of faith, hope, and charity by upholding the dignity of every person, fostering solidarity, and bearing witness to Christ through concrete acts of loving service.

During the visit, the young volunteers sat side by side with the residents, sharing warm conversations and joyful companionship. The gathering concluded with a communal prayer. The initiative reflects the community’s ongoing commitment to serving others and bringing Christ’s love to those most in need.

Last month, the “JP2 Youth Indonesia” community visited another elderly care home in Bogor, approximately 1.5 hours’ drive from Jakarta.
